Rug show crew and parties at the flat + central backpackers, Dunedin, Nov.2005

Me, gazing around or drunk? Maybe both, equally, not too sure...lol

Considering we got kicked out of the hostel (too numerous and noisy) Cho ho blew his 5th (!!!) birthday cake on the street, interesting experience...

Cho ho's birthday at the hostel...
I've already seen this somewhere...memories...

Warren, from Southampton, England, or the fact and willing to improve the relashionship between french and english people...
it worked out well!
Yasuko, japonese, or the more lively and friendly girl I've ever met! I truly enjoyed her delectable company...
She got back to Japan between times.

The girlish crazy team; Grit (Germany), with who we got the same piercing at the right upper ear...Bene (Switzerland), with who we got some vibring rock n roll dancing...and Yasuko!

Ben and I in the middle of George street, you've noticed the maori tatoo...
Here are the people I met while working at a rug show in Dunedin (Edgar center). An international crew, we've counted up to 10 nationalities at some stage!
Several hard parties with heaps of drinking games...;-) During 3 weeks, we had a lot of fun all together!

That one is quite sharp, I give it a try to tell the names of the people in presence;
From the left top hand corner;
1) Dave (kiwi and flatmate), Frank (germany), Benjamin (germany), Andre (germany), Chi (taiwan),
2) Jaime (Chile and flatmate till 20th Nov.), alex (China), Bene (China), Stephan (germany), Andres (Chile),
3) (bottom row) Grit (Germany), Claire (Canada), Rob (Ireland), Jasmine (China), Cho ho (Korea), and me (France I think...)

Fiordland trip, 4 days, 1300 kms, Benjamin + Joel, Nov.2005

TRadition or coincidence, we didn't really figure out what's going on with these undies set on the fences...a funny anecdote with a gorgeous background!

Queenstown at dusk, recently voted as the sexiest city in Nz.

Heaps of keas around (sort of parots), they are really friendly, especially if you guys feed them...

Ice formations on our way to Fiordland!

At the doorstep of Fiordland, the pause looks kind of gay, doesn't it?

Chilling out in an amazing spot by a wonderful springtime day...

The nice crew in the middle of nowhere (Erewhon); Ben, Joel and me!
Welcome to Rohan, country of horse masters... Through central Otago, close to Alexandra.

Lake Wakatipu, second largest in the south island (after Te Anau) and third in nz, a stunning environment close to the happening Queenstown...

If you want to, You can reach it... but what? Nature, car, summit or moon??
My car, Triumph 2500 Tc from 1977, got lost in the wilderness around lake Wakatipu...

Minastirith, The Lord of the rings, Middle Earth/ Nov.2005

Oh yeah...it's me!
The longest lengh of hair I've had so far...
Right in front of the tiny pond I've had a swim in (cf. post central lake district), lost in the middle of nowhere,as usual in New Zealand.
Something about it though...this pond is right next to Minastirith, or more precisely the Pelenor fields, famous battle for freedom in the Middle Earth of Tolkien, in the "Return of the King"...

This scenery is comparable to the exact scene of the film, with Gandalf and the Rohirims riding along.

Although this landscape is noticeable with the anecdote of the film, it is just beautiful even if it wasn't a Lord Of The Rings location.

Central lakes district, Nov. 2005

The central lake district is absolutely delectable...located in the geographical middle of the south island of New Zealand, it gathered some of the most beautiful lakes in the world!
Notably, lake Pukaki, with the exceptionnal reflection of Mt Cook (3754m) and Tasman!

Just stunning... Lake Pukaki, with its deep turquoise waters, and Mt cook, highest peak in NZ with its 3754m high...

Lost in the wilderness...

Pond close to the Pelennor fields (Twizel), nice swim in the standing waters...about 13 degrees! But refreshing though... lol

EDORAS, NOV. 2005

Edoras, Capital of Rohan, is located in the middle of the southern alps, close to Mt hutt ski field...
This is definitely my favourite "lord of the rings" location, because even without considering the movie, the Rangitata valley is so vast and huge that I could get there once a week...one of my favourite spot in NZ so far...

This is "Sting", you've met it before through the movie...
It becomes pale blue when orcs are coming up! Bilbo then Frodo's sword.

I met a hobbit up there...no... hobbits don't exist I think...it's Andre, with Edoras in the distance.

Camping in the middle of nowhere, which is quite usual in NZ...
but that was truly great, with the full moon enlighting the entire spot with its pale white light...
delightful!

Watch up the film...it's just over there! Can you picture the village up to the hill (Mt Sunday)?

At dusk... sunset over the southern alps...
The Mordor and Mt Doom are not so far away after all!

Joel and I, fascinated by the stunning scenery...
A Rohirrim who lost his horse...

The exact spot of the palace, up to the Mt Sunday...

The dead marshes...

Acrossing the numerous streams barefeet...
if you wanna get up there, you must deserve it!
