, it's the smallest national park as well as the only one by the shore offering an uncommon scenery with the Malborough sounds in the distance and an amazing wildlife.Waters are warm, shallow, clear and turquoise like on a dream postcard...but it's not a dream, I've been paddling over 2 days with Flo, to relieve the pressure after the 2 months at sea.
We also got some camping in the middle of the bush by some kind of untouched golden beaches.
Just live the dream, go for it man!

We felt like survivors at some point...just basic needs.
Our gear; kayaks, food, cameras and kitkat or 4.20 for sure...

Native fern trees witnesses of humid conditions... craning their crowns all over the bush.

Kitkat break?

Life is a beach...

The palace backpackers in Nelson; Flo, Janina and Jaime, a funny and respectable 54 years old mate, who has been my flatmate for a couple of months...unforgetable memories.Nelson is just awesome.
Up to the hill, driving between Takaka and the golden bay...sun beams over the valley.
