Kakadu national park and Northern Territory, B & W shots, late October 2006

5 days in the stunning Kakadu national park on our way to Darwin...black and white photographs for a change.

If you didn't believe in the northern giants in the chronicles of Narnia, you can make out their faces on the cliff...
impressive 400 foot high cliffs surounding Jim Jim falls, one of the highlights of the trip...1h hiking through the river bed over boulders by a baking hot day to reach this unreal untouched place with no trace of civilisation around...this deep plunge pool (26m deep) with still waters as Jim Jim is one of the falls drying out in the dry (season).
when you free dive there (we had all the gear) you get by 18ish degrees at the surface down to 5 or 6 all of a sudden by about 10m deep...an amazing sensation and as you freeze up you can no longer move and have to head back to the surface!
Some rock climbing obviously...and jumping off the cliffs.

A stunning scenery all along.

first natives in Aussie.

Terrorism is everywhere...any stratagem is good to get rid of the flies!!!

B chilling out in a Hammock...

Finally the crew got on so well that from a week planned originally, we spent 2 weeks on the road plus 1 week in Darwin all together!
Loads of things happened, loads of stories but you'll have to wait up for my coming back ;-)
I could just write a book about this adventure...why not???
